When I was six, my parents bought a house with a Really Big Kitchen. Ever since then, Dad has been cooking like crazy. We know we’re in for something good when we ask, “What’s for dinner?” and he says, “It’s a Surprise!”
Thanks to his encouragement, I now have several favorite recipes that I love to cook. In fact, everybody concedes that my ribs are the best! Mom won’t even go out to her favorite barbecue place for ribs anymore, she says they just don’t taste as good as mine. We have a Ribfest a couple times a year, and I invite some of my favorite friends over and we have a party.
Of course, the Menagerie has to pitch in when it’s time to cook. The dogs (Sonia and Sam at present, although Sam’s a rescued Golden who’s visiting with us while he gets well) wander around in the kitchen, or just lay down in the road hoping to trip Dad when he’s carrying a big plate of food. The cats (Feliz, Spooky and fat ol’ Geeter) gather around to watch and supervise. The turtles swim around in their habitat and beg, although they only want celery. It’s quite a zoo!
Our puppies never get table scraps. There aren’t any!
Dad collects his favorite recipes, of course, and that’s what led me to start this site. Why not share? I hope you find something you can like as well. And as always,
